2. How long does it take for the sofa to fully expand?

Most compressed sofas take between 24 to 72 hours to fully expand, depending on the model, room temperature, and humidity. In some cases, slight shape adjustments may continue for up to a few weeks.

3. Is any assembly required?

Minimal assembly is usually required. Detailed instructions and necessary tools are included in the package.

4. Can I sit on the sofa before it fully expands?

We recommend waiting until the sofa has fully expanded before using it to ensure maximum comfort and structural integrity. Early use may affect the final shape or performance.

5. Will the sofa return to its original quality after compression?

Yes. Our compressed sofas are specifically designed and tested to regain their original shape and comfort after unpacking. The materials used, such as high-resilience foam and durable upholstery, are made to withstand the compression process.

6. How do I unpack the sofa safely?

Carefully remove the sofa from the box and place it in the room where it will be used. Use scissors or a safety cutter to open the vacuum-sealed packaging. Avoid using sharp blades that may damage the fabric. Allow the sofa to expand naturally.

Disclaimer: Damage resulting from the use of blades or sharp objects during unpacking is not covered under warranty. Please handle the packaging with care to avoid accidental damage to the sofa.

7. Can I return a compressed sofa if I change my mind?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is clean, unused, and in its original condition. Please refer to our Return Policy for detailed information, including return shipping costs and instructions.

8. Are compressed sofas durable?

Absolutely. Compressed sofas are made with high-quality materials and engineered to maintain their durability and comfort even after compression and expansion.

9. What should I do if my sofa doesn’t fully expand or has damage?

If your sofa does not expand as expected or appears damaged, please contact our customer service team at contact@swankysofas.com.au within a day of receiving the delivery. We'll be happy to assist with troubleshooting, replacements, or returns as necessary.

10. Will the foam deform or deflate over time?

This is completely normal. All foam will naturally soften, compress, or slightly deform over time with regular use, especially in high-contact areas like seat cushions or armrests. This gradual change in firmness and shape is a characteristic of foam materials and does not indicate a defect. Minor sagging or impressions on the cushions are expected as the foam conforms to your body and usage patterns. 

Please note that:

  • Foam softening or settling is not considered a manufacturing fault
  • These changes are not covered under warranty

To help preserve the shape and comfort of your sofa, we recommend rotating or flipping cushions regularly.

11. Will the color of the actual sofa match the photos online?

We strive to represent our products as accurately as possible. However, slight color differences between product images and the actual sofa may occur due to professional lighting during photography, editing processes, or differences in screen settings across devices.

These minor color variations are not considered defects and therefore do not qualify for refunds, exchanges, or returns.


12. How do I clean and maintain the sofa?

To keep your sofa looking its best and extend its lifespan, follow these simple care tips:

  • Surface Cleaning: Gently brush the fabric using a soft-bristled brush or dry cloth to remove surface dust and keep the fabric looking fresh. For minor spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth to prevent staining. Avoid scrubbing, which can damage the fabric.
  • Dusting: Dust the sofa regularly using a soft, dry cloth or duster. This helps maintain fabric color and prevents dirt buildup.
  • Covers: Due to the sculptural design of the sofa, most covers are not removable. We do not recommend removing them, as reinstallation can be difficult and may affect the fit and appearance.

DELIVERY & FREIGHT TIMES

Once your order has been successfully processed and payment has been confirmed, you will receive an order confirmation email. Orders are typically dispatched within two (2) business days following confirmation of ID checks.

Estimated delivery times are as follows:

  • 2–7 business days – Capital cities and major metropolitan areas
  • 7–12 business days – WA, TAS, NT, and remote regions

Please note: Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary due to factors such as holiday periods, high demand, extreme weather, pandemics, or other unforeseen events.

A tracking link will be sent to your email within 48 hours of order dispatch, allowing you to monitor the status of your delivery.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

In some cases, the delivery company may request proof of identification before handing over your order. This is to ensure secure and accurate delivery to the intended recipient.

DELIVERY ADDRESSES

We do not deliver to P.O. Boxes or parcel lockers. All orders must be shipped to:

  • A residential address where the customer resides; or
  • A workplace address where the customer is employed.

Deliveries cannot be left unattended unless specific authority to do so has been provided and accepted.

SHIPPING FEES

We offer the following shipping options:

  • Free Shipping: Available for deliveries to Metro Capital Cities (EXCL. TAS/NT/SA)
  • Additional shipping charges will apply to rural and remote areas across Australia and island locations, including Tasmania.

If additional shipping costs apply, we will send you a separate invoice for payment before dispatch.

WARRANTY

WARRANTY INFORMATION

At Swanky Sofas, we are committed to providing high-quality products designed for lasting comfort and reliability. All of our sofas are backed by a 12-Months Warranty, effective from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use.

 

What is covered?
This warranty specifically covers the following:

  • Defects in foam cores, seams, stitching, zippers, or fabric
  • Manufacturing faults in hardware or  interlocking components

 

What is Not Covered?

The following are not covered under this warranty:

  • Improper assembly, unauthorised alterations, or repairs not approved by Swanky Sofas
  • Damage resulting from the use of blades or sharp objects during unpacking
  • Damage from misuse, abuse, neglect, or use in a commercial setting (e.g., hospitality, rental)
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, moisture, chemicals, or direct sunlight
  • Normal wear and tear (e.g. fabric pilling, slight colour fading over time, foam softening or compression over time)
  • Accidental damage, including spills, burns, stains, or pet-related damage
  • Use of the product outdoors, unless explicitly specified as outdoor furniture
  • Products sold as floor stock, seconds, or with disclosed pre-existing defects
  • Items not purchased directly from Swanky Sofas or its authorised retailers

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser at the address on the sales receipt. It may not be transferred or assigned.

All claims will be assessed by Swanky Sofas to determine the appropriate course of action. We reserve the right to inspect the item(s) in question to verify eligibility under this warranty.
